We’re Florence and Sara, two friends who decided they wanted to run a conference session that’s a little different. Apart from our mutual interest in history, archaeology and video games, we also both want to run a session that people from outside of academia would want to contribute to.

What is archaeogaming?
Archaeogaming is the study of archaeology and games. This can include a lot of different things:
- How archaeologists are portrayed in games (e.g. Lara Croft)
- How historical settings and culture are depicted in games
- The material culture of games (whether that be boardgames or video game consoles)
- An analysis of how games develop over time
- Games preservation
There are lots of different directions you can take archaeogaming research in. Take a look at our Call For Papers for more ideas.
